West Leederville Babies (Bradshaw) Outdoor Area
Outdoor Environment at North Perth SOEL

Perth’s Leading Family-owned Childcare & Early Learning Centres. 50+ Years of Expertise.

Proudly WA family-owned since 1974, SOEL has been trusted by generations of families for our Reggio Emilia inspired approach to learning, thoughtfully designed environments and passionate educators who create meaningful experiences every day.

“My children feel supported, treasure their relationships with their educators, and come home with new knowledge about the environment, sustainability, and themselves every day.”

– Nelly Amenyogbe

“Everyday at SOEL I am wowed by the experiences my children engage in.

Their opportunities are endless and they are learning so much. I know each day my children are loved, safe and cared for just like they are at home.”

– Sharon Gomez

“We could barely get her on solids at home. After 1 week she was demanding more food at dinnertime.

Her language has exploded, her interaction with people is on a whole new level. The security is top notch, the food prepared fresh every day. She eats better than I do.”

– Max Lake

Our Early Learning Programmes

SOEL’s innovative early learning programmes are thoughtfully designed to nurture each child’s developmental needs.

Babies

In our Babies programme, we follow each child’s routine, offering individual and group learning opportunities that align with their sleeping, nappy changes, and meal times, all in a warm and nurturing environment.

Toddlers

Our Toddlers programme provides a calm and nurturing early learning environment where children are encouraged to explore and play, empowering children to make choices and learn at their own pace.

3-Yr-Old Kindy

Our 3-Year-Old Kindy programme focuses on comprehensive discovery at a thoughtful pace that encourages children to engage in the inquiry process: planning, researching, hypothesising, questioning, experimenting, and reflecting.

Our 4-Year-Old Kindy programme continues to enhance children’s academic skills in language, literacy, numeracy, and science. They also mentor their younger peers, fostering empathy and social and emotional development.

How do I enrol my child at SOEL?

Getting started is easy, simply fill out our registration form or reach out to our friendly Enrolments Team on 6314 1199. They are available Monday to Friday between 9:30AM and 5:00PM, and there’s no cost or obligation to register.

We highly encourage booking a centre tour to experience the SOEL difference for yourself!

What are SOEL’s opening times?

We offer four sessions lasting 10.5 hours between 6:30 AM to 6:00PM. Need some extra time? We can easily extend it to 11.5 hours for just an additional $10 a day.

Can I book a casual day? Does SOEL offer part-time care?

Absolutely! SOEL offers both part-time and full-time care options, with permanent care available from 2 to 5 days a week. We understand that families have varying needs, so we also offer casual day bookings for those days when you need a little extra support. Your centre manager will be happy to let you know if there’s an available spot for your child on the day you need it.

How much does it cost to send my child to SOEL?

Our weekly fees are based on the number of sessions your family requires each week. The more days your child is enrolled at SOEL, the lower the daily fee becomes! Additionally, many of our families enjoy reduced out-of-pocket expenses thanks to the Child Care Subsidy (CCS). Please reach out to our enrolments team to explore the best options tailored to suit your needs.

Who will be the team looking after my child?

Each child is cared for by a team of qualified Lead Educators, Educators, Managers, and Early Childhood Teachers (the latter specifically for our 3 and 4-yr-old-kindy programmes). At SOEL, we wholeheartedly encourage our staff to participate in additional training by our in-house experts, including the Circle of Security Classroom approach. This commitment ensures our learning programmes reflect SOEL’s philosophythe Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and best practices in early childhood education and care.

SOEL has two teams dedicated to supporting and training our centre staff. Our Pedagogy & Training team work with educators to strengthen their daily practices and research skills through webinars and workshops, while offering personalised assistance tailored to individual staff needs. The EYE Training team supports new educators, guiding them through a comprehensive one-day induction and offering 3 to 6 months of onboarding support to help them understand and embrace the SOEL Way. Together, SOEL is committed to cultivating an enriching experience for you and your child through the ongoing professional growth of our staff.

Does SOEL cater to different cultural backgrounds, abilities/disabilities, and other needs?

SOEL is committed to creating a vibrant learning environment where every child feels valued and empowered. Our learning programmes reflect and embrace the diverse cultural backgrounds, abilities and needs of all the children in our care. SOEL has a dedicated Pedagogical Co-Ordinator–Inclusion Professional who supports the inclusion of every child in our centres and learning programmes. Through these initiatives, children may learn early communication through key word signs. We also introduce children to the rich heritage of our First Nations people and other cultures.

How will you share updates about my child’s day?

Each day, we share exciting individual and group stories of the children’s learning experiences on Storypark. Once you set up your account, you can easily give your loved ones access, making it a simple and secure way to share photos of your child, no matter where they are! At SOEL, we prioritise the safety and privacy of your child by not sharing photos or videos outside of the Storypark platform. If SOEL wishes to use pictures of your child for advertising or any external purposes, we will always obtain parent/guardian permission first. This ensures that your child’s images are used thoughtfully, respectfully and with your consent. We can’t wait for you to see all the amazing things your child is experiencing and achieving!

What actions do you take to ensure the safety of the children in your care?

At SOEL, we prioritise the safety and well-being of your child. We provide safe and secure open-plan environments with accessible spaces that encourage the children to explore and learn freely while interacting with their peers, both indoors and outdoors. Our thoughtfully designed spaces promote clear visibility across our rooms. Our environments are monitored with CCTV, and our educators constantly supervise the children with designated line of sight areas as outlined in our supervision plans.

Our beautiful outdoor play areas feature a mix of natural and artificial greenery with trees, shrubs and shaded spaces. These areas offer children additional privacy while they play.. To further maintain a secure environment, access to our centres is restricted to staff and guardians with authorised ID lanyards.

Our dedicated management and staff are trained to respond effectively and manage any incidents, injuries, trauma, or illness, ensuring the safety and well-being of every child, educator, and visitor at the centre. Every SOEL educator participates in annual Child Protection seminars covering vital topics such as Protective Behaviours. They are also trained in First Aid, Food Safety and Anaphylaxis training to support the children in their care. Each centre engages in regular evacuation drills and lockdown exercises throughout the year to ensure our staff are prepared and to foster a secure environment.

To respect and protect your child’s safety and privacy, all photos and videos shared with you are kept exclusively within the Storypark platform. Images of children are only captured using strictly controlled SOEL devices, which can be easily identified by their bright green covers. To promote a safe atmosphere, personal phones are not permitted while supervising the children. For everyone’s comfort and to adhere to our privacy policy, we also kindly ask that parents refrain from taking photos within the centre.

We partner with you for your whole early childhood parenting journey, offering workshops led by our in-house Pedagogy & Training team, events that showcase your child’s unique learning and curated educational resources for parents.

When it comes to your child’s early years, experience matters. Since 1974, we’ve earned the trust of generations of Perth families through our commitment to excellence. Our team draws on decades of experience and a strong belief in every child’s capabilities and strengths, while continually working to raise the standard of their education and care.
